So the act of always being in the studio, always writing songs, made them better songwriters because they didn't want to repeat themselves.

I met Elton John one time and I asked him that question.

Um and he said that, well, they made two records a year.

And they would take uh they would take two weeks, they would write and make the record in two weeks, go out and tour for six months, come back in, write and make another record in two weeks.

They would write the whole record though.

It's it's uh

mind boggling to think of writing an Elton John record and recording it in two weeks.

Yes.

So when when I met him, the one time I met him, he was working here in a st uh in Atlanta because El Elton lived here.

I don't know if he still does, but lived here for years.

And he was working at this studio in uh called Tree Sound that I was making record at and he was a fan of the band I was producing and came in and introduced himself to the band and then we went and met him and Bernie and his band.

And uh

And he said that Bernie would give him lyrics, he'd put 'em on the um piano.

And then they'd start rolling tape.

And he would improvise the chords and the melody.

The hardest thing to do, Chris, is to write a song to lyrics.

I've everything I've read about the Beatles, every single song they ever wrote, they had the music first, and they wrote the melody to the music and then the lyrics to the melody.

Except for Across the Universe, I I believe Lennon had those lyrics first.
