One of the things that really surprised me when I did a 25-year follow-up study to the Good Friday experiment.
was the persistence of memory.
That those people that this was a Good Friday experiment w looking at um whether psilocybin produced mystical experiences.
And this was Timothy Leary and Walter Pankey did it in nineteen sixty two.
So it was an early psychedelic era research.
And it was in the middle eighties that I did the twenty-five year follow-up.
And everybody who had the psilocybin remembered crystal clear some portions of it.
They didn't remember the whole
experience, but there is something about the psychedelic experience and the
emotional connection to it and often the way it's wrapped up in metaphor and story that anchors in people's memories.
