So I don't think you get to it by aiming at it.

Somewhere at some point in time, someone made something true to themselves, and that became a hit.

Over the course of my career, all the things I'd made that were successful, I never considered hit radio, sales, any of those things ever.

I always thought about what's the thing I want to hear, what's the thing I'm excited to play for a friend.

That's it.

I have a friend with good taste.

I can't wait till he hears this.

That's it.

And when it gets to the point where I'm excited to play it for a friend with good taste, it's ready to share with the world.

It's done.

That part happens fast.

And that's a new thing.

I didn't always know that.

I used to maybe think and maybe even overthink things that were good.
