And listen, we've heard it from the fan base.
They've already declared a winner in this goaltender battle.
But...
Let's not write off Jakub Dobos just yet.
I think it's an open question.
Both are very good rookie goaltenders.
Both have potential.
Both have faults.
And there's a long road yet before a winner is declared.
I would say...
for the rest of the season, you have to lean on Jakub Dobos just because he's, well, we've said, he's proven, he's got the track record this season of being the goaltender that the Canadians have relied on, being the goaltender who has delivered points consistently.
So you might find a two-third, one-third split going on, but I think it's clear that
I think it's pretty clear that Dobish and Fowler are going to be going forward for the rest of this season, the tandem for the Montreal Canadiens.
And that's got to be okay.
And Marty's got to get used to that.
And all of that got to be okay because points matter, wins matter, performance matters.
And Sam hasn't delivered any of that.
This season, the difficulty is that Sam Montembeau is still under contract for one more year.
And that's an issue for the general manager to deal with in the offseason because you don't want a three goalie tandem.
And there's no way you can send either Fowler or Dobish back to Laval for next year.
