And the other name for them of course is carrot bill, some people call them 'cause they're the big huge orange bill, which fits well with their their their their standing as a waiter with the long legs and the long probing bill.

And another funny fact about the bill is that you can tell which they can specialise in how they feed and depending on the shoreline and the the the habitat and the area, be it sort of if they're down in Dungarvin or on a rocky shore somewhere in Kerry or

Up in Bull Island in the mud, their bills can actually be shaped differently depending on what they feed on.

So the guys who chisel at the cockles and the oysters and the mussels, their bills can be quite blunt from hammering and it chips away at the collie the hard stuff that it sort of damages their bill over time and flattens it.

And the guys then who are more worm probing that might be on the mac or out west or whatever, their bills are quite long and sharp because they're forcing them.

them down into the wet mud or the sand for the lugworms and all those sort of things.

So I think that's really cool.

We always say, Oh, wait for the winter to see those or they'll be here in the spring or whatever, but with the Ister catcher you can go and see them along the coast anytime really and so now is really good time just get out maybe um for a walk some Sunday and and keep your eyes and your ears peeled and you'll you'll connect with some Iister catchers.
