Back in the day, NBA players had to work jobs.
That's why when people try to hate on, Michael Jordan was doing that against plumbers.
Okay, these guys had to go to work because they wasn't
But at the end of the day, when the NBA started realizing, hold on, man.
Buddy got hurt at his day job.
We gotta give him more money.
We gotta create more money for these guys.
Why?
Because we need them to focus all their time and energy
That's what money represents for me.
So when you look at what the gift has been able to do for me,
It puts me in a position where I can consistently do what I love without having to pause it to make sure that my lights are on and make sure my kids' tuition is paid, make sure that this is... I'm able to do what I love and it pays me so that I consistently do what I love.
Not so that I could...
take a trip or buy a car, and I've been able to do those things.
