There's an American government official.

We're being illegally detained and threatened.

The foreign government's military is involved.

And we're just going to stand quiet while the prime minister of that country is lying about any accountability?

I mean, it's an affront to everyone with an American passport.

I've never felt my race as acutely.

But they single me out.

And they say, are you the son of Isaac or the son of Ishmael?

Meaning, am I a Christian or a Muslim?

And I say, I'm a Hindu.

And they have no idea what that is.
