wow yeah that's it do you for a guy who threw big hits is there a hit you think back like you got crushed uh yeah Bates Bataglia got me one really yeah behind the Carolina no I was a it was dumb was a d2d and but I was kind of in the middle I just I I didn't take a look to where I was going I just thought I could widen out no problem and I remember he caught me my helmet was off and everything guys who threw hits they they might remember some but you remember getting crushed

No, for sure.

Yeah.

That was about as hard as I had been hit.

Well, the, the, the gold medal, it's interesting because it happens so quick, right?

You're on a flight the next day back home.

I remember we chartered, uh, it was Joe and I, Adam and, uh, again, when we were playing Calgary and two nights later in Colorado.

So he was on the plane with us flying, but all of a sudden you're done, right?

Stanley cup, you've got a couple of weeks with the team and then you've got the summer where the cup does its tour and.

Then you got the banner raising and all that stuff the next year.

So it's really spread out celebration where the Olympics is very quick.

It was like a party right after.

The next day you're on a plane back home and you're back playing in the NHL.

Yeah, no, early on, I think like most young guys, when I see them come here, the day the season's over, you have your meetings, you're on and you're back home in your hometown.

It's, it's, you know, it was a small hometown and in Canada, they're hockey crazy.

So it's kind of fun to go back there.

Right.

And, but as time went on, I, you know, married a girl from here, from California, started having kids out here and then coming back here and working for a number of years, just made this home after that.

Yeah, 13.

Yes, he's 13.
