It's a big if, if he sticks to his word.
I don't think anyone thinks he will, anyone thinks he can, or anyone thinks that it's a realistic commitment.
It's a good thing for the head of Paramount to say, if you want the merger to go through, it's completely unenforceable, it's completely unrealistic, and history shows it won't happen.
Look at the Disney Fox merger.
They immediately reduced the number of films that they produce, the amount of content and output.
This is going to harm movie theaters.
It's going to harm cable companies and satellite dish companies.
And it's going to reduce output, reduce quality, and raise prices.
That's what happens when you have corporate consolidations like this in an already concentrated marketplace.
Yeah, well, let me just first address the USDOJ statement that it's not going to harm American consumers and it's good for competition and completely baseless, conclusory, no rationale or reasoning behind it.
The Trump administration has been very clear that they want this deal to go through.
Trump likes Larry Ellison.
He likes David Ellison.
He wants to help his friends.
That's kind of the beginning and the end of the analysis.
Unfortunately, it's wrong for it to be that way, but that's how it is.
And that's why people are pissed off across this country about this deal.
It looks like it's rigged and they want a free and fair market, not a rigged market.
And for Paramount, they're talking about, at Warner Brothers, the point you're making about the streaming industry and the streaming market, that's a different market that we're not challenging.
They want to talk a lot about that, and they're positioning vis-a-vis Netflix and Apple and Amazon, but we're not challenging that market.
