I could have jacked the people around him.
Some people really didn't like Carly and some people did.
And you've kind of got to find that middle ground where it's, you know, what's bias and, and,
What are people just picking at because they don't like that person to start with?
Yeah, I think that's a huge part of this.
And one of the reasons I took this whole project on was I think there's two things, right?
You want to know that justice is being done and that it's being pursued in the correct channels and to the fullest of its ability.
I think for the community, they want to see justice to be done as well.
And that is one of the big concerns here is
This region, Mergen, surrounding towns of South Burnett, they feel like they are an area that gets ignored a lot.
They feel like they don't have the resources at hand.
If they call the police, they don't feel like they're going to arrive in time.
You know, Carly talks about
calling the police for a domestic incident.
And it took four hours to the police to come to her.
And she lives 15 minutes down the road from the cop shop.
So there's a sense there where people feel they have to take the law into their own hands and they have to drive these things forward.
And you can see here, once the police stopped giving interviews and stopped doing press conferences about Jack, that's
when this kind of whole flame of, you know, speculation erupts and people are throwing around accusations left, right, and center because they're not getting answers from the police.
They don't really know if it's been followed up as far as they can tell because they don't have that information in front of them.
