How do you deal with that?
Especially the Irish dancing.
You see an awful lot of really passionate Irish dancing mums were Irish dancing champions themselves but didn't get there.
That's a whole other podcast.
But yeah, I think it is living their dream through their child in a skill musical or something and want that for their child but the child has no interest.
If they have no interest they don't stay long.

We're very lucky we have really good parents and really nice parents.

And we say we try and keep it fair every year.
You know, Mary had the lead role last year and this year it's Siobhan's turn.
Go on, Siobhan.
Are you a bit steely in that regard as well, if you need to be?
I say to the teachers, if somebody really wants to sing, try and find something for them to sing.
Even if it's a group song with maybe four or five singers.
Try and give them that opportunity.
But obviously, you know, the best will get the part.
And it has to be that.
