I had some Pekis in my newsroom in in Montreal.
Uh and we were we were not always willing to acknowledge that.
We need to acknowledge that, uh, and and and we need to say it uh uh that we're human beings.
What we need to do is try to try and say, here here are the facts as we distill them.
Uh and and not try to ignore the fact that there is some bias in media.
So I don't know that we always helped ourselves.
We're in this position because we have been attacked, but we've also allowed ourselves to be put in this position to a certain extent.

Well I I think we need to criticize ourselves.
Oh well sure.
It uh yeah, absolutely.
No, I I do think that um governments have willfully, okay, strategically decided that they're going to do a few things.
The the first of all, the media is the opposition.
They're not they see them not as uh uh important sort of members of the democratic process, they see them as the opposition.
So what do you do to an opposition?
Well, you uh
Uh you starve it of information, you confuse it, you enrage it, you you anger it, you make it uh sputter with rage, and thereby you continue to denigrate its own credibility.
And I think that we've seen that, quite frankly, for a long, long time.
Uh and and um uh Andrew called it going around traditional media by going through the current social media.
platforms, but that's part of the process as well.
