And then off the US went. matched

Some CIA forces were in Afghanistan within about two weeks or so after September 11th. matched

The US began a bombing campaign about a month later in early October. matched

And so we knew the focus would be al-Qaeda and the Taliban in Afghanistan. matched

But it clearly was very broad and offered the possibility of going far beyond that. matched

And indeed, that would prove to be the case. matched

Yeah, I was in Jerusalem on 9-11. matched

And then within days, I was sent to Pakistan and was near the border. matched
