We're waiting for money.
We're waiting for jobs.
We're waiting for future.
The humanitarian aid that we receive helps undoubtedly, but it's not enough to meet the enormous scale of need.
But talking about my life, I am a teacher at UNRWA.
My husband is working at one of the international institutions.
So our situation, alhamdulillah, is stable.
My family as well, they work, they have money, and that's why they can afford life.
But most people here in Gaza do not afford this miserable life.
And now the war is over, do you and your husband dream about what life you would like to build?
Yes, alhamdulillah, we have money and we can maybe build a home here, but we don't even intend to build a house here in Gaza.
Why?
Because if we build a house, then it could in a blink of an eye be destroyed.
And that's the unsafety that we are living all the time.
And, you know, Rob, it's painful to dream of becoming a university lecturer when many universities no longer exist.
That's my dream work.
Like, I have got my master's degree in order to be a lecturer at universities.
I believe that you don't rebuild homes.
while fear still sleeps in your children's chests, and that's my fear all the time.
Teacher asthma.
