I talked about this a little bit earlier. I feel like emo, I feel like emo music was kind of a gateway into all these different genres. Cause I remember like making friends with this Japanese kid that loved rancid. Yeah. Right. Yeah. Like listening to them. And then it eventually like, that's how I found Mars Volta was someone within that.

But I also think at that time it wasn't super judgmental. Like the whole point of it was people were sick of being judged and there was this openness to kind of these other genres that splintered off from it.

And I also think the way people take that music in, like going to shows like that... even compared to shows I will go to now, like, the level of emotion that people are having at, like, a club with 1,000 people in it instead of a stadium with 18,000, like... It can feel so big when everyone knows every word of every song. It's like church, right?
