They could think about adding an S-election.

So they're combining that Schedule C, that 1099 contractor status with an S election.

And that would give them a better tax situation so they could pay less.

And then they could also, and you know more about this than me, but they could also set up a SEP IRA as well to help them with some of the tax benefits because they can contribute up to 25% of their net self-employment earnings.
