Yeah, I mean, I I don't love it.
Um, you know, love my guy Kirk.
Uh at this point in his career and where the the Raiders are as a team, I would love to see them just give the reins to Fernando Mendoza.
Uh allow him to grow through some of the the growing pains that you have to as a quarterback.
Um, but I don't think this is necessarily an indictment on Fernando.
I know he struggled in his last two games in the preseason.
It kind of feels to me like it's more of an indictment on what the Las Vegas Raiders believe about their team right now.
Um I could see them trying to keep some of the losses off of Fernando Mendoza's record.
Um maybe they think that if he gets beat up too much early in in his rookie year, uh that it could hurt him later in his career.
Um but I can't say I'm surprised because anytime a team brings in a veteran,
veteran, uh especially one like Kirk Cousins, who's played a ton of football.
Uh they they typically don't allow the rookie to go do his thing.
When I was coming out of the draft, obviously they drafted me and Kirk in the same class, but we had Rex Grossman uh on the roster as our backup quarterback and you know I love Rex.
We call him sexy Rexy he did the dude was hilarious and obviously he went to a Super Bowl.
Yeah.
Yeah but there wasn't a there wasn't a clamoring for Rex to be that guy.
When you bring
In Kirk Cousins and you pay him as much money as you did.
I feel like most people feel like this was the natural way that it was going to go and that the Raiders wanted to sit Fernando.
I just don't love the idea.
