Really?

He was he was just throwing his weight around.

You know, he'd he he was just borish, he'd be rude to people.

I mean I interviewed David Cameron for the book, who told me one of the h hardest things he had to do, and it was quite early on in his in his premiership, was to to go to the Queen and say, I'm afraid I'm sacking Prince Andrew as a trade envoy.

Um, when he left the Navy in O one, um, the Queen was desperate to keep Andrew in the Navy 'cause there wasn't really anything for him to do.

And then the Navy said, Look, we've run out of road here.

He's uh he's we we can't give him anything to do.

We he's he's no longer ours So he left the Navy.

And it was uh the government um n prodded along by uh uh at the time a a a very senior Labour figure called Peter Mandelson uh who came up with the idea of a trade envoy.

Um and uh they so you know, the Queen was obviously behind this.

I mean great, it's a sort of you know, we've got we've got him a job, there's something for him to do, but it was the government who came up with this idea of a trade envoy.

In all those years he was being a trade envoy

It wasn't the Queen who was who was s sort of saying to people, Oh, no, no, you've got to send Andrew here It was, you know, the Department of Trade and Industry would send him to places.

He'd go on these trips under the auspices of the Foreign Office who would organise them.

Everywhere he went he was being accompanied by

uh police officers from the Met Metropolitan Police who answered of the home office.

So, you know, you've got different arms of the government uh uh are also uh uh involved, if you like, in this kind of Andrew um he you know, on on these these tours where where where gradually things sort of unfolded and and you know, he'd go off and he you he'd go on some of these trips and with with Epstein and uh and and and you know it
