If you're not um yeah, um it's a more sort of nebulous situation.

You're in a sort of vague and no one's quite sure what you can and you can't do, and so that as as we saw with Harry.

Um I mean there was a time when Harry was absolutely the most popular member of the family by a mile.

I would I would say Peak Harry, Peak Peak Prince Harry was um uh late summer of 2012.

Um we'd had that wonderful summer, we'd had the diamond jubilee.

We've had the Olympics, it had been a huge success.

Queen opened the Olympics, um, with James Bond famously.

It was one I was in the stadium that night, it was great.

And uh and then when it came to ending the Olympics, the Olympic rules say the games will be closed by the head of state.

Well, um the Queen said, No, actually I'm I'm I'm I'm going to Balmoral.

Um I've opened Olympics before, she don't the nineteen seventy-six Olympics.

I mean I uh uh the the the House of Windsor is more Olympics than any other family in the world.

They've done the nineteen oh eight, the forty-eight, you know, the twenty twelve Olympics.

So the Queen said, No, um I'm going on holiday.

Uh, one of the family is going to close the Olympics and it's a big deal.

It's it's billions of people are watching, you kinda hand over to the next Olympic city, and everyone assumed, Oh well that's a job for Prince Charles, um, or possibly Prince William and and with very short notice but just quietly announced uh Prince Harry will close the games and everyone thought, Oh, that's interesting.

Okay.

Well I mean, why?

Why Harry?

Um what we didn't know at the time, but what he knew and what the Queen knew is he was about to go off on uh active service to Afghanistan for the second time.
