really ever since uh since I think I w I would argue since twenty eleven, which was sort of Williams wedding, the state visit to Ireland, the Obama's coming to Britain and followed by the Olympics and the Jubilee and everything.

And all the way through there've been this sort of great

um run of great things and uh and and and and this this moment just felt like a a happy day for the country.

Um and it just it didn't last.

I just think it's it's it's sad and uh it's I think there's not much we can do about it now, we've got to move on.

Yeah, well and that that was that was their perception.

I I think you talk to people um who worked around them at the time and

I think there was a there was a a kind of a cultural uh clash.

I mean, you know, they they particularly, you know, Megan had come from a kind of can do Californian, right?

Let's get on and do this situation.

I mean and and that's gonna be difficult when you suddenly come up against uh, you know, the royal household, which is it does things at its own pace and it's you know, it might be in your uh compared to to to what she's used to, a bit sort of dozy, a bit indolent.

I mean I

I I know that just sort of tiny little things would would would would be irritating.

There was some there was some problem with a a lock on a door in their in their in their cottage and it just took weeks to sort it out because it had to be done by this official and that official because it's an old um listed building.

You could yeah, and i uh you could see why it's what that just meant the lock, you know.

You could see why it would drive them and drive Megan in particular.

Uh it would sort of

i in in in infuriate them.

But um, you know, the the the Queen went out of her way to to make it work for them, as I say.

And I think she just felt that they hadn't given it enough time.
