And you might find someone that says, Yeah, this is this is primarily what I do.
Like there's a difference between speech and language.
Speech is your ability to articulate the sounds, to make a clear ta sound, to make a clear s sound or r sound, a freaking r sound.
Sound.
It's a killer.
But language is the ability to understand what's said to you and to produce a communication.
So you have children who can't make an R sound, but who actually can communicate beautifully in terms of the content of their speech.
Then you have the child who can form every sound in the world, but actually has poor communication.
They don't use the language or they don't understand what was said to them well.
If you've got a speech problem.
You need a speech specialist who knows how to get the tongue organized and and give them strategies and stretch the mouth in certain directions.
But if you have trouble understanding language or producing it, you need the language specialist.
And it's those sorts of differences where we're hoping to move you in the right direction more quickly by explaining that difference.
And then you say, Oh, my kids
it's got a speech issue or oh wait a minute, it's not speech at all, it's language.
And then that's gonna help you.
We like to think of it as a great reference.
Yeah.
For pediatricians, for teachers, for special ed teachers, for speech language therapists, sensory therapists, you know, to think holistically because they're watching this child work.
