Laurie was apparently his nickname because his middle name is Laurison.
So she called him Laurie.
And I mean, what a fool.
One of the things that once you know how he ended, maybe you can see that pattern across his life, that kind of, I mean, we should be careful about playing hobby psychologists here, but sort of almost a manic depressive approach to life where he has very high highs and very low lows.
And the money, like you say, that's almost incidental.
And sad, tragically, two of his three sons ended up committing suicide.
But what is it about Jesse Livermore that therefore commands such attention still to this day?
I mean, like you say, there have been other people that have made fortunes from shorting market or in the markets, maybe made several fortunes.
But I suspect we won't be talking about them in 100 years time.

you know, command such attention.
Yeah.
That, I think, helps transcend, you know, this just being a book about a trader, essentially.
And I do agree that the lesson should be that, you know, everybody should talk to journalists more.
Right.
I think that's a great line.
If you want to live forever, talk to journalists.
But I'm curious, do you think Jesse Livermore would do well today?
There are very few people, hardly any, that sustain investing brilliance over a long period of time.
