They get there, and they come in with their head full of all kinds of misogyny, maybe anti-Semitism, racism, and the priests have to deprogram and say, hey, that's not what we're about.
And I'm told that some Reformed congregations are dealing with this, and some traditional Catholic congregations are too.
Yeah.
I think the key thing, though, is not to condemn these men outright.
A lot of them really are looking for some way to live better or healthy masculine lives, but they don't know what to do because the institutions in their lives, their fathers, the other institutions are telling them they're no good, they're the problem, and the churches have no real answer for them.
In an organic way.

And that's what- And you moved back to help take care of her while she was dying of cancer.

And we wanted to, my wife and I wanted to, as you say, establish a rootedness there.
I mean, I'm a city guy.
I like city life, but we wanted as an act of love to go back and move to the country, to be with family, raise our kids there.
And it didn't work.
It didn't work because we were rejected by my family there.
And it's really- For being a snobbish cosmopolitan.
