And so because we, you know, we didn't, my mother, you know, she wanted me to keep going, but we didn't have the money.

So all of a sudden,

I go to San Jacinto, and there there was a football lifting program, and they didn't have a baseball program to do that.

I matured.

My body grew.

I took classes and graduated early at 17.

So when I went to the JUCO, did really well there, and then I ended up at Texas.

We lifted with the football players there, too.

I got strong.

Fastball started jumping, and then these guys, I'm like, wow, I got a chance to get drafted.

So it's pretty cool going to Omaha.

So that's kind of how everything set itself up for my path to continue forward.

Now, I had bumps along the way.

I mean, there was times where I didn't think I was going to make it through Major League Baseball a few times, too.

But just to persevere and, like I said,

When I talk to the guys, I go through three long answer here.

I go through progressions.

Physically, you're in charge of how you feel in your body and the core work.

I mean, in between starts, I'm doing close to 600 ab work just because that's where I get that in long toss.

That's where you continue to be able to have your fastball.
