And from there, I was deployed to Kuwait.
And then a subsequent time in 2003, we did the invasion into Iraq.
And then another 12 months after that, as a, you know, peacekeeping tour.
I would agree.
We were actually on a range and it was odd to say the least, mostly because when we got the, when we were told about it as troops, we didn't know if they were joking or not.
because they play like PSYOP games with you to try to mess with your mind and get you to react in order to give you different situations.
And so we didn't know if they were joking or not.
We kind of thought, I know that you could be like, man, that would be a sadistic joke.
They do sadistic jokes all the time in order to get your mind in a different state of combat.
Right.
So, so there.
It's that kind of scenario.
And we didn't know how to take it until, uh, they called in the trucks and said, because we were infantry.
So you walk everywhere or March, you March everywhere.
Uh, if it's 20 miles that way, when we're marching 20 miles that way, when the captain came out, he said, listen, I'm going to have the cattle truck show up.
And that's literally a cattle truck that they load cows onto.
they load up all of us troops and take us back to the barracks.
When the trucks actually showed up, that's when we knew something had happened because that was the first time in basic training that we didn't march to wherever it was we were going.
That was kind of a heads up to like, hey, something serious may be afoot.
And then when we got back to the barracks...
