So the seasonal courts do have this ability to have this strange stagnation that Reese describes.
Like they control the climates, they control weather, but the sun rising and sunsetting, nowhere on the mainland is that able to be controlled at all.
We get a bit of a hint of the origins of the night cord.
That's a pretty important hint for our lore in chapter 17 of A Court of Must and Fury, when Reese explains
When the prison came to be and about Moore's family.
He says, this place, this prison, which is Dusk Worm, made into a prison.
was made before the High Lords existed.
Before Prithian was Prithian, some of the inmates remember those days, remember a time when it was Moore's P Moore's family, not mine, that ruled the North.
So we learn that Moore, who is his cousin in the loosest sense, loosest definition, her family, her line, ruled the North when the Dusk Court did exist, when the Dusk territory did exist.
And then at some point after after courts were formed, Reese's family
then ruled the north.
And then the prison today is now like freezing, deserted, barren.
So so Night Court is the mainland.
It has all the days, whatever, it doesn't exist near permanent twilight.
We have from Celine a very clear point in time where she, in my opinion, decided that Dusk Court was going to cease to exist.
Like the independence of Dusk Court was not going to be relevant any longer.
And that is in chapter 21 of Crescent City 3 when she decided.
To wed a high lord as the last, like last living royal line, basically of dusk.
