But the people of North Carolina are not going to buy it.

But let me tell you, folks, that this is not going to be an easy race.

This is a race that we should win because I think the people of North Carolina would rather have a senator who's going to work for them instead of the billionaires.

But in North Carolina, we haven't elected a Democratic U.S.

senator since 2008.

And in fact, we've only elected two Democratic U.S.

senators in the last 40 years.

There's something about these federal offices that people of North Carolina look at these races and say, maybe we don't want a Democrat here.

I believe that that's going to change this time.
