Okay, so the technique is called manufacturing consent.
I want to be really specific here because this isn't some conspiracy theory phrase I made up.
This is the actual technical term.
Edward Bernays, the man I've been studying for 20 years, he literally wrote an essay in 1947 called The Engineering of Consent.
That is his term.
He published it in an academic journal.
And he describes it, and I'm paraphrasing here, the essence of democratic leadership.
