They're going to outlast the pandemic.
And how many of them will go on to create jobs, which is what we really need for the health of the economy.
The other thing I will say, too, is that some businesses are doing okay.
Some of them have actually been adding employees.
I talked to a number of businesses where they had a very hard few months, but things have rebounded for them.
So I talked to a company called Utility Concierge that helps customers set up home services and utilities when they move.
And they've benefited from the fact that more people are moving.
They've also, and this is true for some other companies I've talked to, in some ways marketing has become easier because you can reach people by Zoom.
You don't have to go knock on doors, go to restaurants, go to golf courses to talk.
to do your marketing.
I also talked to a company that does job placements for the biotech industry.
And so the demand for the diagnostic testing and vaccine industry has helped them.
Then we also have businesses like companies that do highway construction.
They've been adding workers in part because their servicing contracts that were put out and awarded before the pandemic
And they also have the ability to maybe be a little more efficient because there aren't as many people on the roads.
One of the other businesses, one of the other sectors that I think you've seen growth to is companies that are supplying the home and garden industry because we're all working on our homes because that's where we are.
So there are pockets of strength, but there's also some pretty deep pockets of pain.
It's been a pleasure to talk to you.
Even the ones that have seen some recovery are nervous about how long-lasting that's going to be.
And some businesses, even though things have improved, think it's going to take a long time for activity to get back to normal.
