So one of the business owners I talked to said people will come in to him, employees or prospective employees, and they've done all the research.
They have spreadsheets.
They have analysis.
And so they can say, this is what this job should pay.
And I know one of the business owners I talked to, too, said he just...
had to give these big increases in year two and year three to his workers.
And I thought that was very interesting.
The other thing that I would say is that a lot of small businesses are saying that they're having a hard time finding workers, finding qualified workers.
When you look at, we at the Wall Street Journal do a survey with Vistage.
You look at our data.
You look at information from the National Federation of Independent Businesses.
you find that this is becoming an increasing problem for small businesses.
And as the labor market becomes even tighter, it's going to be even more of a growing problem.
And they're going to have to figure out, some firms have said they're doing more training in addition to raising benefits and wages.
And some firms have said to me, if I could find qualified workers, I'd be able to grow faster.
So I think it's a real challenge for them.
And I don't see that changing anything.
