Me personally, look, every coach I think around the world would love to coach England.

I think it's one of the great jobs in world cricket.

But look, I'm pretty busy at the minute at Durham and I didn't get a phone call.

So I'm assuming that I'm not on the list.

So I think that's how it works nowadays.

They ring you, you don't ring them.

Yeah, of course.

It's an interesting situation, isn't it?

Generally, the main coach has done all formats in the past and in most places.

I know Andrew McDonald in Australia was very clear with his thinking that when he took over, he wanted to take over all aspects.

I think because you're delivering the same message, it doesn't matter what format, you're wanting to make sure players understand where you're from.

But

You know, at the end of the day, there are lots of names thrown up.

I'm a bit with Darren Lehman, to be honest.

I think they've got their number one candidate well and truly squared away.

They're talking to whoever that is.

I don't think you make a decision like they have done to say, Brendan, we're just going to let you do the white ball and not do test cricket unless you've got someone in the gun, so to speak.

So...

Yeah, I'll be interested.

I wouldn't be surprised if there's an announcement not too far away, to be honest.
