So I started getting some lessons, got down from two to scratch really quickly, played my first tournament, like I played a couple of junior tournaments in my local club and stuff, but my first proper tournament trying to be a golfer. matched

And I was like, I love this. matched

And that was me done from there, basically. matched

Like that was what I wanted to do from there on in and didn't turn pro until I was 25. matched

I think I was a rookie on the DP World Tour at like 30, a rookie on the PGA Tour at 37, and pretty crazy to say I'm a major champion at 39 now. matched

Yeah, like the DP World Tour was always busy through the middle of the year and we were based in London for a while, which was quite a lot of fun. matched

We did like eight years based in London for the summer and like the English summer can be really, really good and we always used to get out of there at winter and go back to New Zealand and I'd do a little bit of travel from there, but I used to have a bunch of time off over Christmas and into January and that was always a really good time to be back home and matched

Um, it's been a little bit different getting used to being based in the, in the U S but, uh, you know, it's been a pretty good change so far and we're going to be here for a little while yet now, which is pretty cool. matched

Yeah, so that was actually at school. matched

So the high school I went to was backed onto a golf course, my golf course I was a member at. matched

And somehow my last three periods a day, twice a week were off and that included lunchtime. matched

So it was like 11 till three. matched

So perfect time to play golf. matched

So I used to put my golf clubs in the trunk of the car, change your clothes and you used to just walk through a couple of bushes and you're on the 18th green. matched

So I used to just walk across, go play golf matched

And then I remember our, we used to have a house system. matched

So I had a house master and I used to think I got away with it. matched

Like no one knew that I went and played golf twice a week for six months. matched

And he was like, I knew you did it. matched

I just didn't care. matched
