I'm from a little town in Idaho, a little potato farming community, a thousand people in this town.

I just did an interview yesterday.

Somebody on the radio did a bunch of research on my town, and they go, guess what the population is now?

And I guessed 1,200, and he said it's 950.

So it's gone down.

But I think it's...

I don't know that that seems odd to me because I think there are new people coming but um what'd your mom and dad do my dad they both studied uh creative things they studied uh my dad studied art education my mom uh studied like creative writing but they ended up doing different things my dad uh eventually when he was young was a got a career as a lineman uh for a little power company right

for the county yeah yeah let's go basically love it and a little power co-op in idaho and my mom uh became a teacher okay yeah and uh she taught all sorts of she taught sixth grade for a long time she's taught uh creative writing she taught um gifted and talented for the whole school district from a very rural place you know a little tiny town and so um brothers and sisters yeah i have uh one brother one sister i'm the oldest very nice yeah that makes sense yeah yeah

Up until I was about 13, we lived in a little house in town, but it was on the edge of town.

And so right on the edge of town, it felt like almost out of town.

There was a big pasture next to us with cattle and horses.

We didn't own it, but you know, that's where it was at the end of the street.

And we had neighbors and stuff.

And then we moved out of town eventually when I was about 14.

So like rural, more rural?

Yeah, well, about three miles out of town.

Our nearest neighbor was maybe a mile away.

Damn.

You know, all surrounded by potato.

It was a farmhouse that we moved into.
