And then I went to this conference.

I wrote for the college newspaper.

And I asked the guy who was speaking, I said, like, hey, you got any book recommendations?

And he was like, you know, I'm reading this guy, Epictetus.

I think you would like it.

And I ended up getting, somehow, I forget how, but I ended up with Marcus Aurelius instead, probably because I saw the movie Gladiator.

And I just, I opened this book and I go, what the fuck has this been?

You know, like, this is what, like, this exists?

Like, this advice is there?

Like, and it kind of just, it kind of just turned my world upside down.

Just that...

I think all young people, anyone coming of age, but men especially in this world are looking for the path.

What should you do?

What should you not do?

And they're looking for it in a way that school doesn't address.

They're looking for it in a way that the church doesn't address.

I mean, especially, I think in some ways, like, you know, some sports programs and definitely maybe like a military tradition, it is based on certain values and you're being inducted into a way of life, right?

But if you don't have that...

You go away to college and they're like, you can do whatever you want.
