You know, 60 Minutes holds itself up as the people who work there, like their independence from corporate interference is sacrosanct, right?
I mean, correct me if I'm wrong, but that show has a reputation above almost all others when it comes to that.
It does.
And so someone who's been there as long as he has would be particularly sensitive to the clamping down by the parent company.
I assume, Don, that some of this has to do with the potential legal settlement that everyone has been holding their breath waiting to see if –
If CBS enters into over the fake lawsuit that Trump filed.
Yeah.
Don't rely on me for the details of that.
But it's something that has some federal government sign-off required and is making CBS News' corporate overlords very nervous and very eager to be chummier with the Trump administration.
And they saw CBS embarrassingly cave when Trump filed a ridiculous complaint
frivolous lawsuit against George Stephanopoulos and ABC.
