After all, I have lived here since time out of mind.

The Greeleys are gone, as are most of the townspeople.

There are perhaps a half a dozen or so people left, for how much longer I cannot say, but I am still here.

My friends have all gone, but I am still here.

My wife and two sons have all gone, but I am still here.

And so is the forest.

More and more each day.

I find my thoughts drawn to it and wondering about the little devils that come from it and why God has abandoned us.

Soon there would be no one left, and the forest would reclaim the farms and homes.

It would be as if we were never here.

It seems like these days it's almost calling to me.
