There were some players who didn't play as well as they should have and such.
But I think if you're going to consider him as a coach and you want to give him credit for those years where he did all those fantastic things, I think that's totally fair and that's very real.
And that is tantalizing.
But seven years where he was set to start a season with the end goal of winning a Stanley Cup and he didn't win a playoff series and got fired twice.
What I would say is that, and in order to make my point, I'm going to end up coming across here like I don't think they should do it.
Because to be honest with you, Bob, I really do feel like the other side of this story and this point needs to be argued a little bit on this show.
I feel that it's important because I just believe in having the whole conversation.
So I'm clearly going to be representing the other side of this discussion because we all know where you are.
So I don't want people to take this as Ryan is dead set against this, but the other side of this needs to be represented.
And here's what it is, Bob.
There have been so many coaching openings over the last three years, since 2023, and we have never heard his name come up once.
Not once.
Now, if you believe it's because Mike Babcock was retired and not interested, then I got some swampland in Florida to sell you, Bob, right?
So no other organization, organizations that desperately want to win with frustrated owners that haven't won, frustrated star players that haven't won, there are many organizations that have been in tough situations and desperate to win.
His name's never even come up once.
I believe there's a reason for that, right?
Because of his history of really poor treatment of players.
And it's a documented history.
It's a well-talked-about history.
And, Bob, it's not just like some little stuff here or there.
