I remember a teacher I had was talking about โ and I can't remember the โ he was talking about some Indian yoga master that the student asked him like, do the masters ever get angry? And he said, of course. But when they get angry, it's like writing on water. It's there and then it's gone. They're not holding on to it.

If you try to write on water, those letters are going to disappear right after you write them. There are emotional disturbances that we're going to have and it's part of life. We can't ignore them. We should embrace them and lean into them. I mean I think a real secret to having a really fulfilling life is being able to embrace all aspects of ourself, the light and the shadow.

I think of it like this. If we go back into the 17 or 1800s when the only way to get from England to America was to navigate or to sail in a wooden sailboat, right? Sail ship, whatever it was called.
