So the Kauranga Valley is another valley, kind of like the Wentworth Valley and the Parakawai Valley.

In New Zealand, you've got the ridge on each side, but in this case, it's more like a mountain ridge, and it runs down into a valley, and in the middle of the valley, it's going to be wet and bushy, and there'll tend to be campgrounds dotted along, and the Booms Flat Campground

is right next to Thames.

So it's over in the area of Tauru Creek, you know, the access to Crosby's.

You can actually walk from Booms Flat.

You want to talk about those decision points.

You can walk from Booms Flat directly up to Crosby's Clearing, and I've actually done that in reverse.

So when I did it, we walked up Tauru Creek Road, we went up to Crosby's that way, and then we came back down, I think it's called the...

I can't remember exactly the name of it, but there's another track that comes back down from Crosby's and it leads you to Booms Flat.

It's quite steep in some spots, definitely better to go down it than up.

But yeah, so Booms Flat initially was spoken about in relation to

yeah yeah yeah some potential things that we probably can't get into um but what we could talk about in relation to booms flat was that there was a potential sighting by air force cadets uh that were there and and we we this we go over this in the episode but this was never actually i believe part of the actual case um you have to remember as well this is the interesting thing with this is that across the coromandel during that time there were sightings all over the place

of a white car a couple that fit the same description you know blonde blonde girl guy that fits description foreigners tenting and they cannot all have been true physically impossible like they were placed all over the place um you know and i always found it interesting to to think that well the conclusion i had drawn is that

It's quite possible that who knows, there may have been another couple by pure chance driving around the Coromandel on holiday that perhaps fit a similar description.

And over time, some of these things got confused.

some of these sightings, you know, these people have gone on the record for decades being absolutely adamant that that's what they saw.

And, you know, and that's fine.

And they may have seen that, but, you know, their one, for example, say you saw one, Jacob, and

in booms flat someone else is saying that they saw one at this other place in coromandel at the same time they're both saying that they're right it's not possible that they both are so sort of how do you reconcile those things right but i think in this particular case these air force cadets say that they saw this car this white um subaru subaru however you want to say it with bull bars uh they even i think mention a sticker in the back of the window or something like they go to some real

real depth in terms of this potential sighting.
