The other thing, to the extent that you believe in the culture driving wins or whatever, sometimes I think we get into the trap of any good team has good vibes and what's the direction of causation there.
Well, it's probably that, like, you are winning a lot, and it's easier to have a good culture and everyone having a good time and be friends when you're winning ballgames.
And it's harder to do that when you're losing ballgames.
Like, the 2024 and 2025 teams were very, very similar group-wise.
Why were the vibes so bad one year and so good the next year?
Probably because they won a lot of games.
And they tweaked some process stuff as well and communication stuff.
But the other thing that was a core part of their identity that is completely eroded is the defense behind those pitchers.
And I'm not saying that to excuse the pitchers.
Kevin Gosman can't come out and walk four guys and give up four home runs over two starts.
