I mean, AI is a piece of it.
Some of it may be an excuse related to AI right now because I'm not sure how many companies are that sophisticated at it as they will be soon, but they're using it as cover.
It's also, in many ways, softening where companies are reducing spending at the worst time ever.
Now you have a government shutdown, more excuses for reasons to reduce your reduced payroll.
Audible CEO came out on a layoff, Audible owned by Amazon, 14,000 workers.
What did the CEO say in their letter to workers?
He said that his quote was that we have to do it to boost, quote, focus and speed.
So in all of this, they're not running away from it.
We're reducing labor.
You have SNAP benefits being cut at a time when one in five frontline workers are relying on SNAP because of where wages are.
It's all scary stuff.
And at the same time, we need to find a way through it.
And maybe the best optimism of the week was what happened on Tuesday.
You mean the elections, right?

I mean, I think that that's a positive sign.
