You know, it's traditionally a time of year now.
Now kids will be home.
Parents have to figure out, you know, there's a lot more things that they're thinking about going into summer and talk about summer travel.
We talk about what this gas prices are going to do to summer travel with folks that, you know, but you can't travel anywhere if you can't even travel down the street.
I mean, the impact is on so many levels.
Number one, you feel that at a local level, at a community level.
You feel it as people walking down the street, engaging.
You walk down the street here in the New York area, you know, Don, I mean, how many folks do you see that are on a full sprint of,
for work.
They're sprinting from where they're going to where they're going.
They're trying to do more in less time because that's the only way to make up for the rising cost is to do more, sleep less, spend less to try to get by at the same level.
I was on the phone yesterday with a hospitality brand on and Mary Beth, and this was a very concerning reality around immigration.
They have spent the last three months solely focused on dealing with I-9
by local federal officials.
And it resulted in them losing four entire kitchen staffs in this hospitality brand.
And they're in a scramble to figure out how do we continue to operate.
And again, the concern is how this, this is not just the, the concern is the problem.
velocity with which they are pursuing, uh, this strategy to, to, uh, attack hardworking, uh, people that are coming to work every day that are make the economy move, that play a part on the team that makes everything happen.
But again, that one hospitality brand talking about the fact that they're spending their time, not thinking about how do we, um,
grow our business how do we you know maybe invest more and this is one of the brands that does it does it right don they pay a living wage they go above and beyond for their workers but here they are um trying to figure out how do they make just the business operate with four full kitchen staffs gone uh and how does that how does that affect where they go net where people move from again uncertainty and that's what mary best said the uncertainty is uh stressing everybody out
