Well, I think there's just going to be the governments and these huge models are going to be so intertwined.
The power that these companies have with their huge market valuation is going to be critically important.
The cynic would say that Dario is using a thing called regulatory capture to sort of
not so much cover his tracks, but cut off the competitors behind him.
So he's hinting that things like mythos are very dangerous in the wrong hands.
That's the new, new version of Claude, that really powerful model.
And he's sort of scaremongering a little bit so that maybe there is a bit more regulation in the space that will hamstring his competitors after he's already reached escape velocity.
You would think so.
And I feel like we talked a lot about that, say, one and a half to two years ago.
And I think with the current regime in the US, who are very, very bullish AI, that's definitely fallen by the wayside.
I mean, you see a lot of the states trying to independently pursue regulation, particularly around driving up the cost of power in states driven by the huge data center implementation.
But I think it's just going to be a really interesting period
you know, thing to watch, right?
At the moment, the models have reached escape velocity and regulations floundering around in the background.
Yeah, I think that's the case.
I do think the lobbyists for AI and for the large language model companies are doing a very good job, if I can put it that way, by couching it as a space race or an arms race with China.
And if we regulated this, we'd risk getting behind.
So they're doing a very good job.
Yeah, but of course, regulation, I think, eventually will catch up.
But it feels like that's not today.
