It's all about interaction, physically and then, I hope, emotionally.
But it's also a deep red.
That does something.
They are.
Here on the floor is a work called Descent Into Limbo, which I made in the late 80s.
It is a space full of darkness.
It's not a hole.
It's a carpet on the floor.
When I first made it, I showed it in a small little building.
We are.
The other side of this show, in a sense, is ritual interior.
So if one proposition about interior is void and nothing and empty, the other, of course, is blood and gore and redness in a different spectrum.
I'm eternally attracted to that.
I feel it's a fundamental question of art.
