Okay, well, let's unpack that a bit more then and try and figure out with you what is going on.
Now, there is much more awareness, first of all, isn't there, of this condition?
You know, people sometimes show up to a doctor already knowing that they have this or thinking they do.
And you point out in your story that there are actually clinics that are set up just to diagnose ADHD.
You go and do some sort of questionnaire.
It costs you a lot of money, thousands and thousands of dollars.
And then you go and have a telehealth appointment
so you can get the medication.
Just explain that, because there's concern about that, isn't there?
All right, the other question you had, Norman, was about the influence of the big pharmaceutical companies and the impact, I suppose, they have on doctors and the panel of experts that come up with the guidelines on how
these drugs should be prescribed.
Now, just to note, you as a doctor, you have received yourself a payment from one of these big companies before.
Well, Norman, you've had a really good look at this very insightful data, the first we've ever had, as you say, in Australia.
I guess the question people are really asking now is why is it then that there are these pockets across Australia in Fremantle, for instance, that have this higher rate?
Did you get to the bottom of that?
It's complicated, isn't it?
And on the other hand, of course, Norman, it's so costly to get a diagnosis.
