They show up on the radar late and their stuff pops late.

I mean, there was a kid in Kansas City, Michael Winters, going to Texas last year who wasn't getting heavily recruited at all.

All of a sudden he had like six miles an hour on his fastball in one year.

And I think that Slidem fits into that, by the way, to where he popped up on some people's early round radar later.

And my point in saying that is I'm not sure that a lot of the consensus boards on him is where he would be if you gave it a month's time and really evaluated, okay, where is he now?

Well, I've seen Jack Haglione tight.

batting practice plenty of times.

He's not hitting ground balls in batting practice.

He does this almost every day.

So no, you're not.

First of all, I guess I disagree with the assertion that a swing needs some sort of major renovation.

Yeah, and you look at a lot of the great home run hitters, that's what they are.

I think this stuff takes a little bit of time to dig into, but I'd be interested to see just over the past two months what his pole error numbers are compared to what they were earlier in the season because it seems anecdotally like he's

put the ball in the air more frequently than he did early on.

I think he's got the chance tonight.

His swing is not super quick to finish because he really finishes his swing.

I think he would have been best suited maybe for just the 10-ounce version of this as opposed to the three-minute version of this because I think it may take him a little bit longer to recoil it.

But I also think he's as good a bet as anybody in the Derby tonight to hit the longest home run.
