They enable those points we were talking about earlier around if you get more renewables on, you start to have gas setting the wholesale price of electricity a lot less.
I think it's even work you guys did around this, I think in 2022 was setting the price around 90% of the time by 2030 around 50% of the time.
So your networks are enabling the renewables that will help
Help bring down that other part of the bill.
And your networks are also bringing down the balancing costs and other stuff.
For me, this is a shift in the system.
You are having to invest in networks to do this, but you get a lot for that.
The customer is getting something for that.
At the end of it, the customer will have a bill that's got a bit more fixed on it, but a lot less variable on it.
So have a much more controllable bill so that we shouldn't be
impacted by the crises in the same way that we had before.
I think that's a investment that's worth paying.
In a renewables-led system, you're always going to get a degree of curtailment, because if you don't, you've probably overbuilt somewhere else.
So I think it's really important.
The way I view it is that in this country, the generation build ran away from the networks build.
We got a lot of generation through the connect and manage time, which me and you were obviously involved in.
The network just was being run in more of a just-in-time type basis.
I
I think OffGem and Nisso got their arms around this.
And I think the work that they've started to do on the ASTI and the future planning of actually having a much laid out network plan ahead.
