So SSE built the last C C G T in the UK that was of any material size.

That was key B two.

Two, if you go now to the market to try and buy that same equipment, you will cost you three and a half times what we paid for it.

And you'll probably be waiting for five years for it.

So there is a bunch of stuff out there that is changing the dynamics of the supply chain, changing in terms of technology, which means that some things that people thought in the past might have been a perfect route are really not quite as clear cut anymore.

The turbine stuff, I speak to the OMs, they'll know more about it than me, but I understand there's some pretty big orders taken into the Middle East, and some pretty big orders taken into the US.

But also just the general cost of kit has gone up.

If you think about what we've seen in offshore wind over the period from say twenty nineteen to today, where you had a bit of cost inflation three or four years ago, in that time since we built Kipu two, you'd have seen the same thing going on there.

And that's what it is.

It comes back to the point that even if you don't believe in carbon and you're just looking at the cheapest possible pathway, we genuinely believe that a renewables-led one is the best route.

Solar and onshore are cheaper even than offshore.

Offshore has a practical advantage.

Nuclear, I think, is an important role in the system.

I'm not going to be negative about it, but it's clearly expensive and clearly takes a long time.

And gas is not a panacea that

That some might think it is that world has changed.

There's a couple of things in that, Sam.

I think our route to being more competitive is going down an electrification and renewables route.

If you can be at the front of that race, you'll be in a better place than others, is the reality.

And that does mean driving the demand and electrification, which has not had the focus of the driving at the renewables side.
