the role I was going for was filled by someone who
was well into retirement age, but also had that exact same role like twenty years prior to that.
You know, definitely felt unfair.
Yeah.
Yeah, I guess this um this person also did have um their PhD as well.

Basically said, has anyone else been noticing senior colleagues at work refusing to retire and making it much harder to move up the ladder?
Boomers won't retire and it's screwing the rest of us.
There I said it.
Yeah.
Oh, Reddit just lost its mind.
Like I got, oh my goodness, all varied reactions.
The perspective of the younger colleagues was they work hard, they're ambitious, they want to go places, but then they're stuck.
And then there's others that are saying,
I would retire now, but I can't afford to retire and I'm in my seventies.
