It really does depend on is there a a supply crisis and is there a reason to force people out if they don't want to leave?

You can have phase retirement where you teach a bit, you know, you could remain in your firm as like an avuncular counselor.
For academics, I can write articles and books until my dying day.

That means that you have an income.
But it's not a salary anymore, but you have a library card.
Uh at great at at rich institutions like Yale you have an office.
So you lose very little.
This is a good idea.
You know, I think that's perfectly fine.
In fact, um in Japan, they still have mandatory retirement.
